House challenger Amy Kennedy nearly doubled Rep. Jeff Van Drew’s (R-Dennis) fundraising in the final weeks of the race, according to campaign finance reports filed with the Federal Election Commission.
Kennedy reported raising $762,327 between Oct. 15 and Nov. 23, while Van Drew raised only $390,835 over the same period.
She raised nearly $5 million over the course of the race, while Van Drew brought in nearly $4.3 million.
They spent similar amounts — $844,682 for Kennedy and $889,367 for Van Drew — in the race’s final weeks, though the challenger’s $4.9 million spent during the cycle outpaced Van Drew’s $4 million.
Van Drew finished the race with a larger war chest. He had $244,245 banked at the end of the reporting period, while Kennedy had just $20,477.
