Republican Thomas Kean, Jr. has gained 341 votes in his bid to unseat Democratic Rep. Tom Malinowski in New Jersey’s 7th district congressional race and now trails by 5,155.
Somerset County election officials had transposed the last three digits of each candidate’s total, but the error has now been corrected.
Malinowski now leads Kean, 204,849 to 199,694, 50.6% to 49.4%.
An additional 4,477 votes were counted in Somerset on Friday and Kean won those ballots with 54%.
Provisional ballots have still not been counted in Somerset.
