Republican U.S. Senate candidate Bob Hugin has raised $30,289,562 on his bid to unseat Bob Menendez and has loaned his campaign $27,500,00, according to reports filed with the Federal Election Commission.
Hugin, a former pharmaceutical company CEO, reports cash-on-hand of $2,575,238.
Seeking to become the first Republican to win a U.S. Senate seat in New Jersey since 1972, Hugin has spent $27,714,324 so far.
Hugin spent $4,996,470 between October 1-17.
Among Hugin’s October donors: $1,000 from Rep. Rodney Frelinghuysen (R-Harding), who wrote a personal check.
