Action Together NJ has endorsed Mikie Sherrill for the Democratic nomination for Congress in New Jersey’s 11th district. The grassroots organization has 750,000 members nationwide.
“As the 2018 midterms approach we want to see New Jersey represented in Congress by leaders who share our values and our vision for this state,” says Uyen Khuong, executive director of Action Together NJ. “We believe that Mikie Sherrill is that leader for the 11th Congressional District who will advocate for access to affordable healthcare, quality education, and our environment. She has built a campaign around working with grassroots groups and advocating for policies that will help our community. We are proud to endorse her for Congress.”
Sherrill faces Tamara Harris, Alison Heslin, Mark Washburne and Mitchell Cobert in Tuesday’s Democratic primary. The incumbent, 12-term Republican Rep. Rodney Frelinghuysen, is not seeking re-election.
