Rep. Josh Gottheimer talks about the protecting families during a national health crisis and about reaching across party lines to help people get their lives and jobs in the first TV ad of his re-election campaign.
Gottheimer narrates his own ad, “Fighter,” which talks about how the coronavirus has affected his constituents in New Jersey’s 5th district.
The ad will appear on various cable television networks. The Gottheimer campaign did not say how much money they are spending on the ad.
Script: “For me, the impact of COVID isn’t a statistic or some data point. It’s about families. It’s about protecting our loved ones. It’s about getting our lives and our jobs back. I fight for Jersey because it’s a fight for the things we love –for family, community, country. So, yeah, I’m a fighter. Working across party lines to help patients, doctors, vets. To make school safer, support first responders and strengthen small business. I’m Josh Gottheimer and I approved this message because Jersey is home and I’m always going to fight for our Jersey values.”
Gottheimer faces Republican Frank Pallotta, a former investment banker, in the November 3 general election.
The New Jersey Globe 5th District Debate between Gottheimer and Pallotta is on October 25.
