Human Fundraising Machine raised $10.4 million for 2024 re-election

In tandem with his bid for the Democratic nomination for governor of New Jersey, Rep. Josh Gottheimer (D-Tenafly) raised $970,000 for his congressional campaign account during the fourth quarter of 2024, bringing his cash-on-hand to $20.7 million.

The Human Fundraising Machine had a $10.4 million fundraising haul during the last cycle.  That means Gottheimer didn’t take his foot off the gas for his federal account as he was ramping up to run for governor – raising an additional $247,000 between Thanksgiving and the end of the year and adding another $100,000 to his warchest.

On top of that, Gottheimer’s leadership PAC, Jersey Values, ended the year with $640,000 in the bank.

It’s unclear how much of Gottheimer’s congressional account can be transferred to a super PAC he won’t be permitted to coordinate with: the Federal Election Commission has allowed hard-to-soft transfers of less than 25% in the past.

Between November 15 and December 31, Gottheimer raised $1.66 million for his gubernatorial campaign.

Gottheimer was re-elected to his House seat in New Jersey’s 5th district for a fifth time in November by 43,072 votes, 55%-43%, against Republican Mary Jo Guinchard.
