Lavallette Republican Club president William Burns has endorsed Kate Gibbs for Congress.
“Kate’s experience has shaped her into the strong, empathetic, and determined conservative leader she is,” Burns said. “What impresses me most about Kate Gibbs is her strong leadership, tenacity, and ability to get a job done.”
GOP municipal chair Patricia Hoffman, is also backing Gibbs, along with councilwomen Joanne Filippone and Anita Zalom, councilmen Jim Borowski and Dave Finter, and Republican Club vice president Mary Chyb.
Three of the four members of the Lavallette Republican County Committee are for Gibbs.
The endorsements come two days before the Ocean County Republican convention, when the organization line will be awarded.
The Ocean GOP screening committee voted to support Gibbs last month.
Missing from the Gibbs endorsement are mayor Walter LaCicero, councilmen Robert Lamb and Michael Stogdill, and county committeeman Ronald Marmo.
Gibbs faces former Hill International CEO David Richter, Barnegat mayor John Novak and former Hainesport mayor Anthony Porto in the race for the GOP nomination to take on freshman Rep. Andy Kim (D-Marlton) in New Jersey’s 3rd district.
