Two local elected officials today endorsed Tom Malinowski for the Democratic congressional nomination in New Jersey’s 7th district.

Garwood Mayor Charles Lombardo and Summit Councilman Matt Gould have signed on as supporters of Malinowski’s bid to unseat Rep. Leonard Lance (R-Clinton).

“Tom’s candidacy is the right combination of integrity, experience, and commitment to public service that has convinced me that he is the right candidate to be our nominee,” said Lombardo, a twenty-year member of the Garwood governing body.  “Tom has already passed more significant legislation in Congress than Leonard Lance. He is the only choice in the CD7 race if we’re finally going to get something done for Union County.”

Gould says that Malinowski” is the kind of Democrat I want representing me”

“I ran for Summit Council because I wanted to help my town meet the challenges of a rapidly changing world. Tom has that same philosophy and brings to his candidacy a new kind of politics that is diplomatic and inclusive,” said Gould.
