Rep. Chris Smith has been endorsed by the New Jersey Firefighters Mutual Benevolent Association (NJFMBA) in his bid for re-election to a 20th term in Congress.

“My father-in-law, Don Hahn, was a fire chief in Sayreville and I have always respected his, and all firefighters, bravery, commitment and life-saving work,” said Smith.  “I am deeply honored to receive the endorsement of the NJFMBA which represents the everyday heroes of our communities. Our local firefighters, EMTs and dispatchers work day in and day out to keep our citizens and families safe.”

NJFMBA president Eddie Donnelly said the endorsement of the 5,000-member union was unanimous.
