A veteran of New Jersey politics is heading to Capitol Hill to serve as chief of staff to an Illinois congresswoman.
Ben DeMarzo worked as chief of staff to Assembly Minority Leader Jon Bramnick and for Gov. Chris Christie before heading to Washington to join the Trump administration as Assistant Deputy Secretary at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
DeMarzo left New Jersey in 2014 to manage the re-election campaign of Rep. Keith Rothfus (R-Pennsylvania). He served as deputy state director for Christie’s 2016 presidential campaign in New Hampshire, and then on Christie’s Governor’s Office staff.
Miller won an open Illinois House seat in 2020.
Her career got off to a rocky start when he quoted Adolph Hitler in a prepared address to a conservative group on her second day in Congress. She later apologized for the reference but said that her intent was to discuss raising a “new generation of patriots.” Miller claimed the left was trying to twist her words.
