Dems favored to gain 4 NJ House seats, Sabato-UVA ratings say

Sabato’s Crystal Ball at the University of Virginia, one of the top non-partisan analysts of congressional races in the U.S., says Democrats are favored to pick up four House seats in New Jersey and re-elect Bob Menendez to the U.S. Senate.

The final ratings of top races in the 2018 mid-term elections put the seats of two Republican congressmen, Tom MacArthur (R-Toms River) and Leonard Lance (R-Clinton) in the Leans Democratic column, along with the open seat race in the 11th district between Democrat Mikie Sherrill and Republican assemblyman Jay Webber.

Lance and MacArthur had previously been in the toss-up column.

The University of Virginia rating also puts the 2nd district seat of retiring Rep. Frank LoBiondo in the Safe Democratic column for State Sen. Jeff Van Drew.
