CWA endorses Amy Kennedy for Congress

By David Wildstein, March 06 2020 2:51 pm

The Communications Workers of America have endorsed Amy Kennedy for the Democratic nomination for Congress in New Jersey’s 2nd district.

“Amy Kennedy is a rock star,” said CWA New Jersey area director Hetty Rosenstein. “Kennedy is unbought and unbossed, she’s unequivocally pro-union, and she’s the perfect candidate to defeat Jeff Van Drew this November to turn that seat back.”

CWA District 1 director Dennis Trainor said that the CWA “had a long a close history with Ted Kennedy.”

“We are excited to be supporting his daughter-in-law,” Trainor said.  “When I heard Amy Kennedy discuss her approach to fighting back against Donald Trump’s dangerous bigotry, I knew that she would be the most electable candidate to face Jeff Van Drew in November.”

Trainor said that the CWA has many members in NJ-2.

“Our Locals are going to be out in force for Kennedy,” said.

The endorsement comes days before the Atlantic County Democratic convention.
