A conservative group that advocates for LGBTQ causes has endorsed David Richter for Congress in New Jersey’s 3rd district.
“David Richter believes opportunity belongs to all of us—regardless of our sexual orientation or gender identity—and he supports equal rights and equal protection for LGBTQ Americans,” said American Unity Fund senior advisor Tyler Deaton. “Too often, the government serves as an obstacle to prosperity for millions of Americans. For Americans who happen to be gay or transgender, it goes one step further, denying them the same rights and responsibilities extended to every other taxpayer.”
The American Unity Fund is run by former Bush White House staffer and public television news personality Margaret Hoover, the great-granddaughter of President Herbert Hoover.
“At a time when the radical left wants to divide our country even further, I am honored to have received the endorsement of the American Unity Fund,” said Richter. “The GOP is the party of individual liberty and freedom, and that means freedom for all, regardless of sexual orientation. In Congress, I will be a strong voice for equal rights and equal opportunities for the LGBTQ community and for all Americans.”
