Zisa re-elected Bergen GOP Chairman in a 2-1 landslide

By David Wildstein, June 01 2021 8:36 pm

Jack Zisa easily won re-election as the Bergen County Republican Chairman on Tuesday evening, fighting off a challenge from Michael Gardner by a vote of 350 to 164, a 68%-32% margin.

Zisa found himself in a re-election bid this year even though county committee elections originally scheduled for June 2020 and postponed for a year as a result of COVID-19, were pushed off until June 2022.

Gardner is the Oradell Republican Municipal Chairman and a former candidate for mayor.

A former mayor of Hackensack, Zisa became county chairman in 2018 after Paul DiGaetano declined to seek re-election.
