President Donald Trump’s daughter-in-law will headline a high-dollar fundraiser for a super PAC supporting Bill Spadea for governor later this month at the Trump National Club in Bedminster.
Lara Trump, the former Republican National Committee co-chair, is the special guest at the Legacy of Liberty event, where ticket prices range from $1,000 to $250,000-per-person on Thursday, April 24.
Her appearance for Spadea follows speculation that Trump might take sides in the June 10 Republican gubernatorial primary in New Jersey.
Trump met briefly with the Spadea and front-runner Jack Ciattarelli about ten days ago in Bedminster. He spent about fifteen minutes with Ciattarelli seated at his table on March 21, and the briefly with Spadea on March 22.
A poll conducted by Kellyanne Conway, Trump’s 2016 campaign manager and White House advisor, put the president’s favorables at 90% among Republicans in New Jersey, with nearly two-thirds of them (65%) saying they’d be more likely to support a gubernatorial candidate who had Trump’s endorsement. Conway is on the board of Kitchen Table Conservatives, a super PAC supporting Ciattarelli.
Legacy of Liberty began airing a digital ad in March featuring a clip from Trump’s appearance on Spadea’s 101.5 radio show last year when the president tells him, “You’ve had my back.”
