Probation officers union endorses Murphy

Gov. Phil Murphy has picked up his fourth law enforcement endorsement today with support from the Probation Association of New Jersey, a union of about 3,000 probation officers and supervisors.

“We are appreciative of the Murphy Administration’s support of our work, and the opportunity for us to represent our members as we continue to serve and rehabilitate our fellow New Jerseyan,” said Dwight Covaleskie, the union president.  “We look forward to working with Governor Murphy and helping support the work of our Officers and Supervisors and their commitment to protecting our communities.”

The Probation Association supports about 140,000 adults and thousands of juveniles as part of the largest probation systems in the nation, according to the union.

Murphy has been endorsed by the State Trooper’s Fraternal Association of New Jersey, the Port Authority Police PBA, and the Jersey City Police Officers Benevolent Association.
