Online voter registration in New Jersey is up and running, becoming the 41st state to offer a paperless option to become a voter.
The state Division of Elections brought their new system live this morning.
In January, Gov. Phil Murphy signed legislation sponsored by Senate Majority Leader Loretta Weinberg and Assemblywoman Gabrielle Mosquera (D-Gloucester Township) to allow eligible New Jerseyans to register online using a state Motor Vehicle Commission identification or the last four digits of their social security number along with a digital signature.
Arizona has had online voter registration since 2002.
The deadline to register to vote for the November general election is October 13.
