More than 50 Hunterdon County Republicans endorsed Jack Ciattarelli for governor Tuesday.
Ciattarelli, a former assemblyman seeking the GOP nomination for the second time, announced the endorsements in a release. Among the endorsers are a trio of county commissioners, the county clerk, and several mayor and municipal GOP chairs.
“Jack Ciattarelli is the only candidate for Governor who can build on President Trump’s momentum in this state and deliver conservative common sense solutions to the problems we face,” said John Lanza, Hunterdon County’s commissioner director. “Jack will cut costs, end Murphy’s sanctuary state policies, support law enforcement, and help us win Republican seats all over New Jersey.”
Mary Melfi, Hunterdon’s county clerk and a state committeewoman, said Ciattarelli is the only Republican who can win in November. Commissioner Deputy Director Shaun Van Doren, who serves as the state GOP’s treasurer and the Tewksbury municipal chair, also endorsed Ciattarelli.
“After eight disastrous years of Governor Murphy, this state needs a Republican Governor,” Melfi said in the release. “Jack Ciattarelli is the only candidate who can win in November and deliver for Hunterdon County, and all of New Jersey, as Governor.”
