New Jerseyan Abe Foxman, a civil rights legend who spent 28 years as the national director of the Anti-Defamation League, has endorsed Rep. Josh Gottheimer (D-Tenafly) for the Democratic nomination for governor.
“As we move forward, New Jersey needs strong and proactive leadership on the core issues that our communities and fair-minded New Jerseyans care about,” Foxman stated. “Josh has courageously and with purpose stood up and challenged antisemitism and hate in New Jersey and beyond and has been a determined and effective supporter of Israel, America’s most important ally.
Foxman, a Holocaust survivor, praised Gottheimer for his efforts to combat anti-Semitism and support Israel.
“Josh understands slogans are just slogans. Vote for Josh. He will continue to stand up for the causes important to you and him,” said Foxman. “You can count on Josh to vote the same way after the election as before the election. That is why I proudly stand with Josh and have offered him any support he wants.”
Gottheimer, a five-term congressman and former Clinton White House staffer, has pledged to “stand up for the Jewish community and work to fight antisemitism and hate across our state.”
