Democrats in the 11th district are attacking their opponents in a new ad, with a special focus on Republican State Senate candidate Steve Dnistrian’s business dealings.
The ad, “Hu$h,” criticizes Dnistrian’s work in the offshore wind industry, his previous business dealings with local governments – he had public relations contracts — and his stance on property tax relief. The ad also calls his running mates, Assemblywomen Kim Eulner (R-Shrewsbury) and Marilyn Piperno (R-Colts Neck), extremists.
The ad uses a cartoonish and features caricatures of the Republican candidates. The Democratic candidates – State Sen. Vin Gopal (D-Long Branch) and Assembly candidates Dr. Margie Donlon and Luanne Peterpaul – do not appear in the ad. .
Script: “Steve Dnistrian is running for Senate and hiding his money. He worked for the offshore wind industry, but kept that a secret. Dnistrian got no-bid contracts pocketing taxpayer money. Yet, local leaders had no idea what work he did. When it comes to your money? Dnistrian opposed the biggest property tax cut in state history. Now, he’s running with extremists, Marilyn Piperno and Kim Eulner who voted to defund Planned Parenthood. We can’t afford Dnistrian, Piperno, and Eulner.”
Dnistrian had strongly attacked Gopal on the off-shore wind; earlier this summer, however, it was reported that Dnistrian had worked in the industry, even representing a company that wanted to build the infrastructure to bring energy produced by off-shore wind farms ashore.
This is the latest ad in the 11th district. Democrats have released several ads: one focused on public service, another on issues such as abortion access, affordability, and public safety, and another exclusively on abortion. The Republicans recently released an ad that focused on education, crime, and energy.
