Democratic legislative candidates in the 11th district today launched their first cable TV ad, highlighting their experience in public service.
In “Service,” State Sen. Vin Gopal (D-Long Branch) and his Assembly running mates, Ocean Township Councilwoman Margie Donlon and former Asbury Park Municipal Court Judge Luanne Peterpaul, speak directly to the camera about their careers – Gopal as a small businessman and first responder, Donlon as a physician, and Peterpaul as a former prosecutor.
Script: “(Gopal) I’m Vin Gopal. I’m a proud new Monmouth County dad. I’ve been a first responder, small business owner, and I’m your state senator. Monmouth County works when its leaders serve the people, not their parties. That’s why I’m running with Dr. Margie Donlon and Lou Ann Peterpaul. (Donlon) I’m a physician, wife, and mom. I’ll protect a woman’s right to choose and lower the cost of prescription drugs. (Peterpaul) I spent years prosecuting violent criminals. I know how to keep our community safe. (Gopal) Together, we’ll put Monmouth County families first.”
The campaign declined to comment on the size of the initial TV buy.
Gopal faces Republican businessman Steve Dnistrian. Donlon and Peterpaul are challenging incumbents Marilyn Piperno (R-Colts Neck) and Kim Eulner (R-Shrewsbury).
