New Jersey Commissioner of Health Judy Persichilli announced today that she has named Dr. David J. Adinaro as the new deputy commissioner for public health.
Adinaro joined New Jersey’s COVID-19 response team as chief medical officer at the New Jersey Field Medical Station in Secaucus in March. He had spent sixteen years as vice president and chief medical officer of St. Joseph’s Healthcare System.
“Dr. Adinaro heard the state’s call and joined the fight during this unprecedented health emergency,” Persichilli said, praising his role in assembling a staff of 100 in a short time.
Adinaro became an EMT as a teenager and was chief of emergency medicine at St. Joseph’s in Paterson.
He will begin on June 22.
