More than one New Jersey governor and a swath of other noted politician will virtually meet to celebrate the 100th anniversaries of the League of Women Voters’ and the 19th amendment.

“With all the attention on voting rights issues across the country and in New Jersey, the League of Women Voters is as vital and relevant today, as it was when it was founded in 1920,” LWV New Jersey Executive Director Jesse Burns said. “Our virtual gala will celebrate not just the League’s past but our future, and fire up New Jersey residents to get engaged with the upcoming election.”

The guest list includes Govs. Phil Murphy, Tom Kean Sr., Jim Florio, Christie Todd Whitman, Jim McGreevey, Jon Corzine and Chris Christie, Lt. Govs. Sheila Oliver and Kim Guadagno and others.

First Lady Tammy Murphy willhost the event, which can be viewed for free on the Leagues’ Facebook page.

“We are thrilled to have such esteemed New Jersey leaders involved with our 100th anniversary event,” said Nancy Hedinger, president of the board of directors of the League of Women Voters of New Jersey. “Besides celebrating the League’s milestone, the virtual gala will provide information about how any New Jersey citizen can participate in the electoral process in the Garden State.”

Prospective viewers can register for the virtual gala on the League’s website.
