Kalafer among inductees of New Jersey Hall of Fame

Driscoll, Pye, Borg and Mulcahy part of class of 2019-2020

Philanthropist Steve Kalafer, the owner of the Somerset Patriots and chairman of the Flemington Car and Truck Country Family of Brands, will be inducted into the New Jersey Hall of Fame Class of 2019-2020 at a virtual ceremony in October.

Kalafer is the chairman emeritus of Somerset Health Care Foundation’s Board of Trustees and member of RWJBarnabas Health’s Board of Trustees.

Kalafer joins the Borg Family, the owners and publishers of The (Bergen) Record, former Rutgers Athletic Director (and Brendan Byrne cabinet member and chief of staff) Robert Mulcahy, General Martin Dempsey, the former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and former New Jersey Chamber of Commerce Chair Linda Bowden.

Posthumous inductions include former Gov. Alfred Driscoll, former Star-Ledger editor Mort Pye, former Hudson County Freeholder Joseph Simunovich, economist Milton Friedman, and Becton Dickinson founder Fairleigh Dickinson.

“These Garden State heroes perfectly represent what makes our state great,” said New Jersey Hall of Fame Chairman Jon Hanson.”
