WALKER WORTHY FOR MAYOR

Candidate calls out Councilmen Harrison and Bethea as “enablers” of Mayor Jackson

TRENTON, NJ — Today, Mayoral Candidate Walker Worthy issued the following statement regarding the continuing scandal of Trenton failing to apply for Transportation Trust Funding. Today the Trentonian reported that the city continues to point fingers rather take responsibility or correct the situation:

“While city officials continue to point fingers and try to dodge blame for the embarrassing failure that led to Trenton missing out on hundreds of thousands of dollars in state aid, I have one simple question for Mayor Jackson and his chief enablers on the City Council, Duncan Harrison and Alex Bethea — haven’t Trenton taxpayers had enough incompetence and mismanagement? It’s shameful and pathetic to see these politicians try to convince Trenton voters to give them another chance when it’s so clear to everyone that they have failed. I’m running for Mayor because Trenton needs new leadership with the experience and competence to deliver for our city, and the need for a new direction has never been more urgent than right now.”
