Former Gov. Chris Christie continues to hover just above zero in independent polls released since he launched his campaign for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination last Tuesday.
A CBS News/YouGov poll that was in the field after Christie’s announcement and the indictment of former President Donald Trump put the former New Jersey governor in a three-way tie for sixth place with 1% among Republicans. Trump leads Ron DeSantis, 61%-23%, followed by Mike Pence and Tim Scott (4%), and Nikki Haley (3%).
In Iowa, an American Greatness poll has Trump 15 points in front of DeSantis, with Christie in sixth place with 2%.
A Public Policy Polling survey of Wisconsin Republicans, a Critical Insights poll of Republicans in Maine, and a Deseret News/Hinckley Institute poll of GOP voters in Utah didn’t include Christie.
But Christie did hit 1% in a Public Policy Institute of California poll released last Tuesday.
Christie was at 1% in today’s Issues & Insights poll of Republicans and Republican leaners and is tied for seventh place in a national poll that has Trump a 55%-19% leading DeSantis, with Pence at 6%.
