Former Gov. Chris Christie has upside-down favorables of 27%-43%, making him less popular than Elon Musk, in a national Harvard-Harris poll released on Saturday.
Among Republicans, Trump leads Ron DeSantis by 45 points, 59%-14%, followed by Mike Pence (8%), Hikki Haley (4%), and Vivek Ramaswamy (3%). Christie and Tim Scott are tied for sixth place with 2%.
But there’s some good news in the poll for Christie: his unfavorables are below some other national political leaders, including Kamala Harris and Mitch McConnell (49%), and Hillary Clinton (53%).
Without Trump in the race, DeSantis has a 41%-15% lead over Pence, with Haley and Ramaswamy at 7% and Scott at 6%. Christie remains at 2%, tied with the “someone else” option.
Joe Biden (41%-52%) and Trump (45%-48%) each have underwater favorable ratings.
The Harvard-Harris poll was conducted online between June 14-15.
A New Hampshire Journal/coefficient poll released yesterday put Christie at 9% among New Hampshire Republicans – four points behind DeSantis and 38 points behind Trump. But 46% of Republicans in the Granite State said they wouldn’t vote for Christie “under any circumstances.”
