Booker endorses Biden

Says Biden will ‘restore honor to the Oval Office and tackle out most pressing challenges’

Cory Booker has endorsed Joe Biden for the Democratic presidential nomination, saying the former vice president will “restore honor to the Oval Office and tackle out most pressing challenges.”

“The answer to hatred and division is to reignite our spirit of common purpose,” Booker said on Twitter this morning.  “Joe Biden won’t only win – he’ll show there’s more that unites us than divides us.”

The race between the two men became heated last summer when Booker fiercely attacked Biden for using 1970s era segregationist senators to make a point on civil rights.  Biden criticized Booker’s record on criminal justice and lead in the Newark water system.

Booker has become the latest in a number of former rivals to endorse Biden.

Pete Buttigieg, Amy Klobuchar, Beto O’Rourke, Kamala Harris and Deval Patrick are already backing Biden.
