Joe Biden has a 24-point lead over Donald Trump in New Jersey, according to a Rutgers-Eagleton Poll released this morning.
Biden leads Trump by a 61%-37% margin among likely voters, with few New Jerseyans still undecided in the presidential race.
Among registered voters, Biden is ahead 59%-37%.
“New Jersey has not been a contested state in presidential elections for the past few decades, and this year is no different,” said Ashley Koning, assistant research professor and director of the Eagleton Center for Public Interest Polling at Rutgers University–New Brunswick. “Much like his lead nationally, Biden’s wide margin over Trump in the Garden State has endured throughout the campaign and has only been solidified in the final days of the race.”
Biden has favorables in New Jersey of 61%-34%, while Trump is upside-down at 37%-37%.
Vice President Mike Pence is also upside-down (37%-52%), but Biden’s running mate, U.S. Senator Kamala Harris, is at 55%-35% in New Jersey.
Trump has not competed for New Jersey’s 14 electoral votes. The state has not voted Republican in a presidential election since 1988.
the statewide poll of 1,001 adults was conducted from October 18-24 and has a margin of error of +/- 3.8%.
