Former Gov. Chris Christie, who has made New Hampshire a make-or-break state in his bid for the 2024 GOP presidential nomination,  is now polling fourth in the New Hampshire Republican primary, according to a new CNN New Hampshire poll released today.

Donald Trump has a 26-point lead, 39%-13%, over Vivek Ramaswamy, followed by Nikki Haley (12%), Christie (11%), and Ron DeSantis (10%).  The rest of the field is in single digits: Tom Scott (6%), Mike Pence (2%), Doug Burgum (1%), Will Hurd (1%), and Asa Hutchinson (0%).

Christie has upside-down favorables in New Hampshire; 17%-67%, a number that roughly mirrors his approval rating in New Jersey when he left office in 2018.

The worst news for Christie is that 60% of likely GOP primary voters said they would not vote for him under any circumstances.  Pence is second in that category with 42%.  Half as many Republicans (30%) said they would not vote for Trump.

Christie is the second choice of just 4% of New Hampshire Republicans, tied with Larry Elder.

Nearly 70% of Trump supporters say they have definitely decided to back him; 36% of all GOP primary voters said they have definitely decided who they are voting for, with 38% indicating that they are leaning toward a particular candidate.

The CNN New Hampshire Primary Poll conducted by the University between September 14-118 with a sample size of 1,006 likely 2024 GOP primary voters and a margin of error of +/- 3.4%.
