Rep. Albio Sires (D-West New York) and Assemblyman Roy Freiman (D-Hillsborough) joined host David Wildstein on the New Jersey Globe Power Hour on Talk Radio 77 WABC on Saturday, April 17.
Sires, a nine-term Democratic congressman from Hudson County, is the Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on the Western Hemisphere and serves on the House Transportation & Infrastructure Committee and the House Budget Committee. He is a former West New York mayor and New Jersey Assembly Speaker.
He and Wildstein discussed President Biden’s decision to withdraw U.S. troops from Afghanistan, Raul Castro’s resignation as head of Cuba’s Communist Party, and plans for building the new Gateway tunnel project across the Hudson River.
Serving his second term in the New Jersey State Assembly, Freiman represents parts of Somerset, Hunterdon, Middlesex and Mercer counties in the New Jersey Legislature. Before winning an Assembly seat in 2017, Freiman spent more than 20 years working for Prudential Financial.
Freiman and Wildstein talked about a gun control plan Gov. Phil Murphy unveiled this week – Freiman is a sponsor of the one of the proposals – about the effect of COVID-19 in New Jersey’s small businesses, and about New Jersey’s economic recovery in the post coronavirus period.
Wildstein is the editor of the New Jersey Globe.
