New Jersey’s Cory Booker is in sixth place in the Iowa caucuses with 3% of the vote, according to a new Des Moines Register/CNN/Mediacom Iowa Poll.
The Iowa Poll is the gold standard of Iowa polls.
Booker is tied with Sen. Amy Klobuchar and runs ahead of 19 other announced and potential Democratic presidential candidates.
The poll has former Vice President Joe Biden leading the pack at 27%, with Sen. Bernie Sanders in second place with 25%. They are followed by Senators Elizabeth Warren (9%), Kamala Harris (7%), and former Rep. Beto O’Rourke (5%).
Booker is statistically even with the last Iowa poll conducted in December.
A January 2015 Iowa Poll had Hillary Clinton leading Sanders 56%-3%. When caucus goers voted a year later, Clinton and Sanders were virtually tied, 49%.8% to 49.6%.
