Atlantic County Democrats unanimously re-elected Michael Suleiman to a third term as county chairman on Wednesday.
At age 30, Suleiman is the youngest county chairman in the state – two years younger than Hunterdon County Republican Chairman Gabe Plumer.
Suleiman was first elected in 2016 and re-elected with 90% of the vote in 2018.
A former aide to State Sens. James Whelan and Colin Bell, Suleiman is the government relations manager for the South Jersey Transportation Authority.
There is an expected leadership change in Atlantic City, where allies of former City Council President Craig Callaway will relinquish control of the local Democratic Party.
The leading candidate to become the Atlantic City Democratic Municipal Chair is Constance “Mandy” Days-Chapman, a former school board member and the campaign manager for Mayor Marty Small, Sr.
