Brooklawn Councilman Bruce Darrow has been charged with stealing over $6,000 from a youth basketball league over the last ten years.

The Camden County Prosecutor’s office said Darrow committed the alleged crime while serving as president of the Carmen Palmiero Basketball League.  The prosecutor’s office said the theft occurred between September 2016 and March 2026.

He’s accused of 3rd degree theft charges and is expected to be arraigned soon.

The 73-year-old Darrow is serving his second term as a councilman and previously spent fifteen years as president of the Brooklawn Board of Education.  He’s been the boys’ basketball travel team coach for 26 years.

Darrow did not return a call to his cell phone seeking comment.

Brooklawn is a borough of about 2,000 people in Camden County.
