Democrats swept Sea Bright’s three Borough Council races, with Councilman Marc Leckstein and Susana Markson winning full terms and Margaret Fisher capturing an unexpired term.
Leckstein received 395 votes; Markson received 376. Republicans Benjamin Perrin and Jeffrey Booker received 274 and 271, and independent Councilman John Lamia received 96. In the unexpired-term race, Fisher received 362 votes to 342 for Republican Charles Rooney III.
Leckstein sought re-election as the council’s lone Democrat, while Lamia ran as an independent after winning election in 2023 as a Republican.
Sea Bright has leaned Republican in recent statewide and presidential contests. Donald Trump carried the borough by six percentage points in 2024, while Jack Ciattarelli expanded the Republican margin to 18 points in 2025.
