Democratic Councilmembers Matthew Adams, Elizabeth Stamler and Roshan White won re-election to the Scotch Plains Township Council, defeating Republican challengers Romel D’Munda, Gabrielle Gilles and Brian Johdos.

Stamler received 7,529 votes, Adams received 7,382 votes, and White received 7,326 votes. D’Munda received 3,186 votes, Johdos received 3,229 votes, and Gilles received 3,216 votes.

D’Munda is a U.S. Navy veteran, while Gilles and Johdos are small business owners.

The victories preserved Democratic control of all five council seats and the mayor’s office.

Scotch Plains remained a Democratic stronghold. Harris carried the township by 24 points in 2024, while Sherrill expanded that margin to 28 points in 2025.
