Rochelle Park Democrat wins seat by 10 votes after recount

Michael Warren holds open seat against Republican Perrin Mosca

A recount in Rochelle Park validated the election of Democrat Michael Warren for a township committee by 10 votes over Republican Perrin Mosca.

Today’s recount left the results the same: incumbent Democrat Linda Boniface received 1,544 votes, followed by Warren at 1,543.  Mosca received 1,539 votes, and his GOP running mate, Delmer Thomas Grigsby, Jr., got 1,499 votes.

Warren is the president of the Hasbrouck Heights Education Association.

Republicans have a 3-2 majority on the township committee.  Democrat Marc Vojnovich did not seek re-election.

Judge Estela De La Cruz ordered the recount last week and allowed all candidates to examine and copy all aspects of the balloting, something that sets up a possible legal challenge to the outcome of the race either way.
