After last 7 votes of 2020 counted, GOP wins by 2 votes in Rochelle Park

Republican Perrin Mosca elected to Township Committee, where just 2 votes separated 3 candidates for two seats

Republican Perrin Mosca has won a Rochelle Park Township Committee seat by two votes after a court-ordered tally of seven previously uncounted ballots flipped the results of the 2020 general election.

Mosca saw his total increase from 1,539 to 1,546 after receiving all seven of the votes counted today by the Bergen County Board of Elections.

Democratic incumbent Linda Bonifice won the second seat.  She gained one vote and finished at 1,545.

None of the seven new votes went to Democrat Mark Warren, who had initially been declared the winner.  He remained 1,544 votes – just one behind his running mate.

Today’s count came one week after Superior Court Judge Estela De La Cruz ordered the seven challenged ballots to be counted.

“We suspected that there were some voting issues that we decided to challenge and we were right,” said Bergen County Republican Chairman Jack Zisa.

Republicans had gone to court in December to block Warren from being sworn in.

The second Republican in the race, Delmer Thomas Grigsby, Jr., saw his total increase form 1,499 to 1,505.
