The Jersey City Employment & Training Program’s board of directors voted to fire former Gov. Jim McGreevey, who ran the Jersey City Employment and Training Program.
According to the Jersey Journal’s Terrence McDonald, three of the board’s members — Bob Knapp, Jake Hudnut and Darrel Laval — voted against firing the former governor. Five members voted to oust McGreevey, and one member, it’s not clear who, abstained.
McGreevey was once a close political ally of Jersey City Mayor Fulop’s but has since fallen out of favor.
“They have given me inconsistent and conflicting reasons for this abrupt decision,” McGreevey said in an email sent to his supporters Sunday.
