Labrosse-backed school board slate wins in Hackensack

Three School Board candidates backed by Hackensack Mayor John Labrosse defeated an opposing slate Tuesday.

Michael Oates, Anthony Rodriguez and Chris Coleman — the “three dads” slate — defeated Jennifer Maury, Monica Pelaez and David Dungey of the “Champions for Students” slate.

Coleman ran in first with 1,413 votes. Rodriguez was close behind with 1,402, and Oates had 1,396 ballots cast in his name.

Among the defeated, Maury placed first with 1,042 votes. Her running mates, David Dungey and Monica Pelaez, received 983 and 994 votes, respectively.
