Hoboken Mayor Ravi Bhalla has picked up the endorsement of the Laborers’ International Union of North America (LIUNA), one of the most politically potent labor unions in the state.
“We have seen first-hand how his leadership and commitment to the residents of Hoboken have made a difference,” said Raymond Pocino, international vice president and eastern regional manager of LIUNA. “From protecting vulnerable residents and workers from COVID-19, supporting local business, and upgrading and modernizing Hoboken’s aging infrastructure, Ravi has shown that local government matters and experience and the ability to find practical solutions to the challenges facing Hoboken matters even more.”
Bhalla is seeking re-election to a second term as mayor. The election in non-partisan and is held in November.
LIUNA has over 25,000 members in New Jersey and their endorsement often comes with money and boots on the ground.
