Ramos to challenge Bhalla for Hoboken mayor

Hoboken 4th Ward Councilman Ruben Ramos Jr. filed to challenge Mayor Ravi Bhalla earlier this month.

The former Assemblyman will run under the slogan “Ramos for Mayor” in his bid to prevent Bhalla from winning a second term.

Ramos’s candidacy was first reported by the Hudson County View.

The contest between Bhalla, who has already filed to run for another term, won’t be the first. The mayor, then a councilman, mounted a primary challenge seeking Ramos’s Assembly seat in 2011.
