A former city employee who filed a complaint against Bayonne Mayor Jimmy Davis for sending her lewd text messages today questioned why State Sen. Sandra Cunningham participated in a Women’s March with Davis.
“Senator, how can you stand here with women and walk with an admitted sexual harasser?” Stacie Perella said while chasing Cunningham down a street in Bayonne.
Cunningham joined Davis, who is seeking a second term in the May municipal election, told Perella “this is America. You’re innocent until proven guilty.”
“Oh, he’s guilty,” Perella said. “He admitted it.”
A spokesman for the Davis campaign said that he appreciated Cunningham’s support, noting that a lot of volunteers showed up in support of the mayor at the march.
