U.S. Senate Candidate Larry Hamm endorsed Pamela Thomas-Fields for Atlantic City mayor.
“I am honored to endorse Pamela Thomas-Fields for Mayor of Atlantic City,” Hamm said. “I consider Pamela a partner and friend in the progressive movement. She has given her adult life to building her community and now takes a significant step to represent her City. Pamela is right for this moment, for Atlantic City and this country.”
The two candidates are bracketing under the same slogan, so the endorsement comes as no surprise.
Thomas-Fields is running against Atlantic City Mayor Marty Small, who ascended to the seat after former Mayor Frank Gilliam resigned following a guilty plea to embezzling $87,000 from a youth basketball league he started.
U.S. Sen. Cory Booker, Hamm’s primary opponent, has endorsed Small.
“Larry Hamm is the real deal. He’s devoted his life to advancing civil rights and continues to lead us toward a more fair and progressive future. His support is truly humbling and I look forward to all we can accomplish by working together,” Thomas-Fields said.
