Hamilton Township’s Republican Committee unanimously backed Mayor Kelly Yaede’s bid for a third term.
“I extend my sincere thank you to the Hamilton Township Republican Committee for their outstanding support” said Yaede. “When I took this oath of office almost seven years ago I told Hamilton that it was people before politics, no exceptions. Our administration has done just that; ignoring the petty politics that goes on inside the council chambers and focusing on getting real things done for the people of Hamilton”
The mayor faces a primary challenge from David Henderson, a fierce Yaede critic.
Council President Jeff Martin is seeking the Democratic nod. His party won a 3-2 majority on the town’s council in 2017. If Democrats win Yaede’s seat, they’ll have won full control of the town.
