Gonzalez appointed to Montclair Board of Education

Montclair Mayor Robert Jackson has appointed Sergio Gonzalez, an executive with Dell Technologies, to the Board of Education.

He replaces Laura Hertzog, who resigned in May after slamming the toxicity of school board politics.

All but 15 of New Jersey’s 550 municipal public school districts have elected local school boards.

Mayors appoint school board members in: Brigantine, Corbin City, Margate, Port Republican, Ventnor in Atlantic County; Pine Valley in Camden; East Orange and Montclair in Essex; East Newark, Harrison and Union City in Hudson; Trenton in Mercer; and Summit in Union.  The Camden City Board of Education is state-operated.
