Beck working for Schneider in Long Branch mayoral race

Former State Sen. Jennifer Beck was a featured guest at a campaign kickoff last weekend for Long Branch Mayor Adam Schneider.

Schneider faces a challenge from Councilman John Pallone in the May 8 municipal election.  It is a rematch of a 1994 mayoral race between the two that has become one of the longest-lasting political feuds in Monmouth County history.  Pallone is the brother of Rep. Frank Pallone (D-Long Branch).

Beck was ousted last fall by Democrat Vin Gopal after ten years in the State Senate.  Schneider supported Gopal in that race, but he had primarily backed Republicans in previous elections: he endorsed Beck and Gov. Chris Christie in 2013, and GOP Assemblywomen Caroline Casagrande and Mary Pat Angelini in 2015.
