O’Donoghue attacks Murphy over order releasing some inmates

Republican Atlantic County sheriff candidate Joe O’Donoghue attacked Gov. Phil Murphy over an executive order allowing the release of some inmates who are especially susceptible to COVID-19 Wednesday.

“It’s clear that Governor Murphy is taking advantage of the COVID-19 crisis to continue to implement his radical liberal agenda,” he said. “A democratic agenda which will weaken our justice system and put our families in danger with criminals free to roam the streets. We have to stop them.”

O’Donoghue, a former Atlantic County sheriff’s officer, is seeking the GOP nod to take on Sheriff Eric Scheffler.
