After covering the race once, The Record tells voters who to support for Passaic sheriff

Incumbent Berdnik gets endorsement

The (Bergen) Record and the Herald News have endorsed Passaic County Sheriff Richard Berdnik for re-election to a fourth term.

Berdik’s challenger is Republican Darren Woolridge, a former sheriff’s officer.

The Record wrote just one story on the race for Passaic sheriff, on October 19.

“Whether Berdnik has been as ‘visible’ as he needs to be is a fair question. What does not seem in question, though, is whether he has provided the steady sense of leadership that county residents deserve. We see no need to make a change in this office.” the editorial said.
