Boland joins NorthStar Strategies; will lead ACECNJ

Ex-BPU official signs on with Fiordaliso firm

Taryn Boland, a former top official at the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities, is joining NorthStar Strategies as director of government affairs and executive director of the American Council of Engineering Companies of New Jersey (ACECNJ), the firm announced Tuesday.

Boland most recently served as a senior advisor to the BPU, where she advised on statewide energy priorities, regulatory strategy, organizational alignment and stakeholder engagement.

She previously served as the agency’s chief of staff from 2021 through 2026, overseeing enterprise operations, policy development, government affairs, communications, information technology and workforce modernization initiatives.

Before becoming chief of staff, Boland served as deputy chief of staff at the BPU, where she led communications and modernization initiatives supporting New Jersey’s clean energy programs.

Boland also spent more than a decade with the Corporation for Supportive Housing and previously held positions with the New Jersey Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency and the Office of former Rep. Bill Pascrell (D-Paterson).

In her new dual role, Boland will work with NorthStar clients on government affairs and stakeholder engagement while leading ACECNJ.

At NorthStar, she will work with clients, elected officials, government agencies, industry leaders, association members, and other stakeholders on client objectives, strategic partnerships,s and business development.

As ACECNJ’s executive director, Boland will oversee the organization’s operations, member engagement, programs, events, advocacy initiatives, and strategic priorities.

“Her extensive leadership experience, policy expertise, and proven ability to build relationships and deliver results will strengthen our team and create tremendous value for our clients, partners, and ACECNJ members,” said Joe Fiordaliso, chief executive officer of NorthStar Strategies.

Boland said she is looking forward to her new role at the firm and ACECNJ.

Boland’s appointment comes as NorthStar expands its government affairs and strategic advisory work within New Jersey.
